The UK Film Council has a Board of 15 Directors and has been established as a private company limited by guarantee, with an intention to move it to a statutory basis at a later stage. The Chairman is Tim Bevan and the UK Film Council's Chief Executive Officer is John Woodward, former Director of the British Film Institute.

Tim Bevan was appointed as the Chairman of the UK Film Council on 30 July 2009, taking over from Stewart Till CBE. He is Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Working Title Films.

John Woodward
John Woodward was appointed the first Chief Executive Officer of the Film Council in November 1999 and set up the UK 's lead strategic body for film.
